U Bein Bridge
This bridge in Amarapura is the longest teak bridge found
in the world, stretching almost 4,000 feet (1.2 km) long.
Surprisingly, this 200-year-old bridge was made from wood
that was reclaimed from the Royal Palace in Amarapura,
after Burma's capital moved to Mandalay. Many locals
pass along this footbridge during the morning and evening
as they begin and end their days. Yet, the best time to
visit is during the evening; take a sunset tour to see the
bridge in silhouette and at its most dramatic.
